DOVER, De. — Wesley College (9-9, 7-4) fell to conference leading Alvernia College (15-4, 11-1) by a final score of 89-82, in men's basketball action on Saturday afternoon, at Jim and Shirley Wentworth Gymnasium. Wesley was led by Rashawn Johnson's game-high 28 points on 9-of-14 shooting and going 7-of-9 from 3-point range. Nick Minor added 20 points, 3 blocks and 3 steals in the loss, while Greg Cooke had 13 points and 7 assists.

Garrett Etzel had 27 points on 7-of-13 shooting, while going 6-of-11 from 3-point range and adding 3 assists, with Zach Straining and Sharron Richardson adding 20 points apiece. Chris Talley posted 13 points for the Crusaders in the win. Tyrone Bradley added a game-high 12 rebounds.

Wesley went into halftime down 47-42 and was out-rebounded 36-26 in the game, while shooting 27-of-56 (48.2%) from the field. The Wolverines allowed 17 second chance points by Alvernia, while also being forced into 20 turnovers in the game.
