The win improves the Nor'easters' record to 11-6, 7-3 in conference play. The Crusaders are winless in 18 contests (0-11 CCC).
A pair of Rebecca Welch '07 (Norton, Mass.) free throws at the 13-minute mark of the second half gave Eastern Nazarene a 44-41 lead. From there UNE turned up the defense, yielding zero points over the next 11 minutes, while scoring 21 of their own. Heather Linnell '09 (Portland, Maine) capped the run with a jumper at the 2:52 mark to give the Nor'easters a 62-44 advantage.
The Crusaders had led 29-28 at the half and hit a trio of 3-pointers over the opening 4:18 of the second frame to establish a 42-35 margin.
UNE's Megan Wyand '09 (Durham, N.H.) established career highs with 13 points and nine rebounds for the winners, who shot 48.4 percent (15 of 31) in the second half after shooting just 29.4 percent (10 of 34) in the first. Essie McKinnon '06 (South Portland, Maine) pitched in with 12 points and nine boards.
Welch had 16 points, 10 rebounds and five steals for the Crusaders. Cristina Winchester '08 (Hamden, Conn.) scored 15 points to go with six caroms.
The Nor'easters, who currently stand third place in the CCC North Division, will host Colby-Sawyer College on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. Eastern Nazarene travels to Nichols College that same day.
