In a fast-paced game, Trinity used a late 11-1 run in the first half to turn a 27-25 lead into a 38-26 advantage with 3:45 on the clock. The Bantams shot 56.3 percent from the field in the opening stanza (18-32) and outrebounded the Polar Bears, 20-12, resulting in a 43-34 halftime lead. Martin led all scorers at intermission with 12 points and senior co-captain forward Tyler Rhoten (Ridgewood, N.J.) had 10 points, while junior guard John Goodridge (Merrimack, N.H.) paced Bowdoin in the first 20 minutes with nine points.
In the second half, Trinity opened up a 57-43 lead with 13:41 remaining on a lay-up by junior guard Kino Clarke (Brooklyn, N.Y.), but Bowdoin slowly fought back to pull to within seven points at 69-62 on a short jumper by sophomore center Jordan Fliegel (Cambridge, Mass.) with 2:32 on the clock. Trinity made nine out of 12 free throws down the stretch to secure the win and knocked down 12 out of 15, including six out of seven by Martin, from the line for the game.
Rhoten finished with 20 points, extending his streak of scoring in double figures to 93 games, and added seven points and four assists, while Clarke had 14 points, and junior forward Michael Hoar (Pembroke, Mass.) pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds and blocked a pair of shots. Bowdoin senior forward Kyle Petrie (Iowa City, Iowa) and sophomore forward Andrew Sargeantson (New Canaan, Conn.) each scored 12 points and Goodridge finished with 11.
