Albion 89, Alma 58

ALMA, Mich. — Albion College went on a 19-3 run early in the second half to pull away for an 89-58 victory over Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival Alma College inside Cappaert Gymnasium. The Britons stopped a three-game skid against MIAA foes and improved to 13-7 overall and 5-6 in the MIAA.

Albion’s decisive rally started with 3-point field goals by senior guard Kellyn Glynn and first-year guard Megan Seely. A 3-point goal by sophomore guard Megan Garvey (Nashville/Maple Valley) propelled Albion to a 21-point lead, 63-42, with 14 ½ minutes remaining.

Albion outscored Alma 13-1 over the final five minutes to post the 31-point victory. Junior forward Blair Meyer (Grand Rapids/Lowell) scored a pair of baskets to ignite the final run.

Junior guard Jessica Babcock led Albion with a season-high 22 points. She sank 8-of-14 shots from the field, including four 3-point goals.
