In New Haven on Saturday Southern Vermont pulled away the last seven minutes of the game outscoring the Falcons 18-13 down the stretch to win the game 99-94. In a very spirited game that saw the score tied 13 times with 15 lead changes, most of them in the first half, Halisi Tambuzi led all scorers with 28 points, scoring 9 points the last seven minutes, and 11 rebounds as the Mountaineers had 5 players in double figures. Leading the way for the Falcons was Bobby Leonzo with 22 points and 14 rebounds while Bill Rose and Victor Purnell had 20 and 21 points respectively with John Donahue having 12 assists with only one turnover. The Falcons shot almost 50 percent on the game but shot just 6-22 from behind the arc. The win pushed the Mountaineers to 6-11, and put them even in the GNAC at 5-5. The loss dropped the Falcons to 2-14, and 2-9 in the GNAC. Albertus faces several must win GNAC games coming up in the final three weeks of the year starting Monday night when they travel to WNEC for a 7:00 tip-off. The first time these two teams faced each other WNEC won comfortably 74-63 as the WNEC bench outscored Albertus' 43-0.
