Trinity (14-4, 7-1) led 44-33 at the half, thanks in large part to a 16-2 run late in the period. Rose-Hulman cut the lead to just six points (42-48) less than five minutes into the second period, but a 19-5 run by the Tigers put the game out of reach with 7:40 to play.
Ross Burt scored 19 points points on 7-10 shooting in the first half, finishing with a game-high 23 points and three rebounds.
James Lake, who scored 14 in the first half, finished with 17 points to go with two rebounds and two steals. Lake hit 4-7 from three-point range.
Andy Bates finished with a team-best nine rebounds and seven points, adding four assists and three blocked shots. Mitch Walker also had four assists to tie for the team best.
Munchie Muskeyvalley led the Engineers with 19 points, while Brennan Dunville added 15 points and six boards.
Trinity shot 46.8% from the field in the game, including 55.6% (15-27) in the first half. Rose-Hulman was held to just 34.6% shooting - 28.0% (7-25) in the second half.
The Tigers will travel to DePauw on Sunday. DePauw lost a tough game to SCAC co-leader Southwestern tonight in Greencastle.
