New York University 97, Emory 64

NEW YORK, NY — Junior Michael DeCorso scored a career-high 30 for the Violets as the New York University men's basketball team raced to a 97-64 win over Emory University on Friday, January 27, at the Coles Sports Center in Manhattan.

DeCorso scored 23 first-half points, missing only one shot (9-10), as NYU (15-2, 4-2 UAA) scored the game's first eight points and never looked back.

DeCorso, who's previous high was 24 points, finished the game 11-13 from the field, 3-4 from three-point range, and 5-6 from the foul line. He also had two rebounds and an assist in his 25 minutes.

The Violets shot 73.3% (22-30) from the field in taking a 58-30 halftime lead. Overall, NYU shot 66.7% (36-54) from the field in the game and 61.9% (13-21) from three-point land.

NYU led by as many as 32 points in the first half and by a game-high 35 points, 70-35, with 16:15 left in the contest.

Senior Jared Kildare added 17 points and a game-high 10 assists for the Violets. Junior Matt Basford had 12 points, while junior Jason Boone added 10 points and a game-high eight rebounds.

Spiros Ferderigos led Emory (8-9, 1-5) with 22 points.
