“RIVIER BEATS SOUTHERN VERMONT”
Nashua NH - Rivier College raced out to a 45-42 halftime lead and a 75-67 lead with two minute to go. But a 7-0 SVC run cut the lead to 75-74 with 40 seconds to go. Rivier then hit 5 free throws down the stretch for the win.
Rivier was lead by John McMahon’s 21 points and 4 steals while freshmen Lance Bisson had 15 points and 4 assists. Jeff Carpenter had another double double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Southern Vermont was lead by Tim Bonnett’s 18 points and Mark Edmonds who had 18 points.
Rivier is now 7-9, 3-6 GNAC and will head to the GNAC’s #1 team Saturday at Emmanuel College. Southern Vermont is now 4-11, 3-5 GNAC.
