Allen White scored a game-high 29 points to lead Huntingdon (11-7, 2-2 GSAC). He scored the go-ahead basket for the Hawks with 14 seconds remaining. Justin Babian added 23 for the Hawks, including 4-for-5 from three-point range.
Corie Jackson led the Panthers with 14 points. Michael Patterson scored a season-high 13 points, while Robby Lawrence added 12.
The Panthers trailed 34-32 at halftime. Huntingdon led by five early in the second half. The Panthers regained the lead, 52-49 on a three-pointer by Antoine Maddox. They led 71-63 after a steal and a basket by Jackson with 5:10 remaining.
The Hawks rallied, tying the game at 71 on a three-pointer by Babian with 2:59 left. The Panthers would take the lead back twice, the last at 75-73 after an inside basket by Patterson off a rebound.
White tied the game at 75 with a pair of free throws with 56 seconds remaining. After a Panther turnover, White hit his go-ahead basket to put the Hawks up 77-75.
The Panthers had one more chance to tie or win the game. Travis Moore's three-pointer at the buzzer rimmed out preserving the Huntingdon win.
The Panthers travel to Jackson, Miss. on Sunday, Jan. 29 to face Millsaps at 3 p.m. CST.
