Elms 129, Becker 47

CHICOPEE, MA — Elms College freshman guard Joe Esile (Milford, CT) netted a collegiate career-high 16 points and the Blazers had all 15 players score, including six in double figures en route to a 129-47 win over Becker College in Wednesday night’s North Atlantic Conference (NAC) men’s basketball game at the Maguire Center.

The Blazers won for the ninth time in their last 11 games to improve to 11-5 overall and remained atop the NAC West Division standings at 6-0. Becker College lost its sixth straight game to fall to 3-12 overall, 1-5 NAC.

Elms College’s 129 points and 82-point margin of victory established new school records.

Junior guard Justin Davis (Dix Hills, NY) dropped in 15 points – all on 3-pointers, freshman forward Antoine Holder (Hartford, CT) scored 14 points and senior forward Lonnie Branyon III (West Haven, CT) added 13 points for the Blazers, who outscored the Hawks 49-6 off turnovers.

Freshman forward Ross Kolwicz (Milford, CT), who appeared in his first collegiate game, added eight points, including a pair of 3-pointers, pulled down five rebounds and registered three steals in just 11 minutes for the Blazers in the victory.

Becker received a team-high 11 points from freshman guard Keith Branch (Charlestown, MA) in the loss.

Elms College returns to conference play when it hosts Maine Maritime Academy on Saturday, January 28 at 2:00 p.m. Kyle Seyboth ’05, the program’s all-time leading scorer, will be honored in a ceremony prior to the game.
