Simpson held the Norse to only nine field goals in the first half, but the game was tied at 28 going into the break as Luther's Andy Rump fired off three three-pointers to keep the Norse in the game. Rump scored 11 points in the first hal. and was tied three times in the second half. The Storm blew open the game with a 17-6 run midway through the second half. Simpson's Scott Ellens scored seven of his 16 points during the 7:22 span. The Storm held Rump in check in the second half as he made only two field goals in the closing frame. He led Luther with a total of 17 points.
The Storm were led by Ryan Hittenmiller who charted his second career double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Ellens was 7-for-8 from the field on the way to his 16. Jason Parkinson scored 12 points. Brett Cermak, the Storm point guard, scored seven points, grabbed six rebounds, and had two steals.
