Curry netted 10 points during a 16-0 run that gave the Fighting Scots a commanding 20-4 lead early, and the margin eventually reached 20 at 32-12. For the next chunk of the game, though, the Lady Blues dominated, and they took a 43-39 second-half lead. The rest of the contest was evenly matched and featured momentum for both teams.
Mulvihill gave the edge back to the Scots with a steal that led to a basket by Curry that tied the game at 50-50, and she sank a short jumper on the next trip after Ashley Yeast grabbed one of her game-high 15 rebounds. With the score tied at 52-52 and one minute to play, Mulvihill knocked down Monmouth's only three-pointer of the night, and Laura Jahn kept the Scots up by three with two free throws with 12 seconds left.
Curry finished with 18 points and Yeast had 13 as Monmouth improved to 3-5 in the MWC and 6-9 overall.
Ashley Law led the Lady Blues with 22 points. IC is now 8-7 overall but just 2-6 in the league.
