“It was a great second half,” Raider guard Jeff Mikos said after the game. “We were slow and we made some costly mistakes in the first half, but we turned up the pressure and played with some emotion in the second half – we were firing on all cylinders.”
Mikos (Lake Zurich, Ill. / Lake Zurich), the Lake Michigan Conference leader in steals and assists, scored in double figures for the Raiders with 11 points on a perfect 4-for-4 shooting.
Raider guard Floyd Bayiha (Superior, Wis. / Cameroon) leads the conference in scoring and continued that trend against the Crusaders with 19 points on 6-for-9 shooting. Bayiha was a perfect 2-for-2 from beyond the arc and 5-for-5 from the charity stripe.
“Jeff and Floyd turned the dial up with intensity and got us going in the second half,” MSOE coach Brian Miller said.
Bayiha continued his big night by finishing with five steals and seven rebounds.
The strong second half allowed coach Miller to take a look at his entire roster as everyone on the team played, and all but three scored.
“Dave Knuth played well for us off the bench with eight points,” Miller said.
