Baruch 77, William Paterson 70

New York, N.Y. — Cheick Fadika (Abidjan, Ivory Coast/Petit) and Robi Davidson (Tel Aviv, Israel/Beverly Hills) each scored 20 points to power the Bearcats to their seventh consecutive victory with a 77-70 win over William Paterson on Monday night in the ARC Arena.

The non-conference victory improves Baruch to 17-3 overall, including a perfect 7-0 record this season in the ARC Arena. The team is also 16-1 against Division III opposition.

The Bearcats (17-3, 8-0 CUNYAC) continue to shoot the ball well with a 48 percent stat this evening, including 8-of-19 from 3-point range. Davidson had five total 3-pointers, including three in the first half that helped build a 34-26 halftime lead.

William Paterson (12-5, 7-3 NJAC) controlled the boards with a 43-30 advantage, but shot poorly and struggled defensively to match up with the Baruch shooters.

Baruch led by as much as 63-46 with 6:27 left in the game, but the Pioneers managed to fight back with a rally to cut the lead to 73-67 with 53 seconds left.

The Pioneers pressed and fouled in the final minute, but Baruch held on for the quality non-conference win.

William Paterson had four players in double-figure scoring led by Samir Sanu (Edison, N.J./Sayreville) with 18 points. Luis Martinez (Passiac, N.J./Clifton) had a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Louie Karis (Brooklyn, N.Y./Xaverian) finished with 16 points and three steals.

Baruch will return to conference action this weekend with a road game on Saturday against Brooklyn College. Tip off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
