Indianola, Iowa — Simpson (9-8, 5-3 IIAC) broke a three-game losing streak against Central (7-8, 2-6 IIAC) with a 77-56 victory over the Dutch Jan. 21 in Indianola. Simpson led 42-34 at halftime, but opened the second half on a 15-2 run to push the lead to 21. The Dutch fired back, cutting the lead to 60-49 with 10:11 remaining, but the Storm scored the next seven points to regain control. In fact, Central scored only seven points in the final 9:49 of the contest.

Four Storm players scored in double figures, led by Scott Ellens who had 18. Ellens was 7-for-11 from the field. Ryan Hittenmiller scored 15 points, dished out four assists, and made three steals. Jason Parkinson scored 13 while Adam Thorson had 10. Storm point guard Brett Cermak scored eight points, had five steals, and charted four assists. Simpson forced 28 Central turnovers and made 17 assists.

The Dutch were led by Taylor Phipps who was 6-for-7 from the field to post 12 points. Chris Nelson scored 10 for Central.
