Pitt-Greensburg 78, Frostburg State 77

GREENSBURG, PA — The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg Men's Basketball team came through in the clutch today, and defeated Frostburg State University 78-77. The Bobcats, who trailed by two at halftime, were helped by some clutch shooting down the stretch, as both David Winfrey and Chris Streett knocked down three-pointers in the final two minutes, to propel the team to victory. The win improved the Bobcats to 7-8 overall and 5-3 in the AMCC.

The team was powered by Bill Scavincky who turned in another sparkling performance with 22 points and 16 rebounds. Winfrey, scored a season-high 19 points, and knocked down four three-pointers, and Duke Cooper finished with 12 points. The Bobcats dominated the offensive glass, as they pulled down 21 en route to the victory.

Frostburg State featured a balanced attack, as six players reached double figures. Leading the charge was Dale DeBerry Jr. who registered a team-high 14 points.

Pitt-Greensburg will be back in action on Tuesday, January 24, when they travel to face conference foe Penn State Altoona. Game time is scheduled for 8:00 PM.
