Clay Michael scored six points late in the first half to fuel BC’s 9-0 run and give the Eagles a five-point halftime lead.
The Royals led just once in the second half when John Lentz scored on a layup, giving EMU a 42-41 lead. The Eagles responded as Michael scored from the paint to put the Eagles back on top. BC then hit 3-of-4 from the foul line and Josh Fox knocked down a 3-pointer, giving BC a 49-43 and they led the rest of the way.
Bridgewater pushed its lead to double figures with consecutive buckets by Michael giving the Eagles a 12-point cushion, 69-57, with 4:29 left. EMU would get no closer than seven down the stretch.
Michael led the Eagles with a game-high 20 points and 11 rebounds. Fox scored 18 and Josh Maupin added 13 for the Eagles. E.J. Arrington led the Royals with 18 points and Korey Whiting added 15. Jason Sager finished withg eight points and a game-high 12 boards.
The Eagles are now 7-10 overall and 4-7 in the ODAC. The Royals drop to 8-9 overall and 3-7 in the ODAC.
