The Statesmen built a 68-53 lead with 10:04 to play, but the Thoroughbreds never quit. Skidmore used a 21-5 run to take the lead 74-73 on Jake Shechtman's (Wynnewood, Pa.) three-pointer with 1:17 to play.
Hobart's Mike Mastro (Westbury, N.Y.) scored with 1:02 to play to make it 75-74 Hobart. The team's exchanged turnovers with the Thoroughbreds getting the ball with :22 seconds to play.
Skidmore's Greg Gallagher (North Haven, Conn.) missed with two seconds to play, but Toni snuck in for the rebound and put-it back as time expired for the win.
Gallagher finished with 27 points. Toni had 11 points and 10 rebounds, Schechtman added 12 points, and Jonah Haviland Markowitz (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored 10.
Hobart's Colby Feane (Weedsport, N.Y.) hit the 1,000 point career mark with a three-pointer with 12:55 to play. He finished with a team high 18 points, giving him 1,007 total. Joe Virgilio (E. Williston, N.Y.) scored 16 and Mastro had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Skidmore (4-10. 1-3 Liberty League) will host Hamilton on Saturday at 4 p.m. Hobart (6-7, 2-2 Liberty) is at Union at 4 p.m.
