The Fighting Engineers had to travel to Atlanta without their star forward Rebekah Forsyth and the Petrels took advantage of their short-handed opponent with their trademark pressure and intensity. Oglethorpe ran out to a 21 - 9 lead to start the game and never looked back from there.
For the game, the Petrels forced 25 turnovers from the Fighting Engineers and turned them into 29 points. Oglethorpe used their deep bench to their advantage, outscoring their opponent's bench 41 - 4.
Anna Findley and Hannah Brooks scored 13 points apiece and led 5 Petrels in double-figures. With the big early lead, Head Coach Sattele had the luxury of utilizing all of Oglethorpe's healthy players. Sixteen different players entered the game for the Petrels and every single one of them either scored, grabbed a rebound or dealt an assist in a great all-around performance by Oglethorpe.
The Petrels are back in action Sunday afternoon when the 10th ranked DePauw Tigers come to Dorough Field House for what promises to be a high-stakes conference game.
