Mississippi College 76, Texas-Dallas 66

CLINTON, MS — Trailing 33-29 at the half, #18 Mississippi College used a 17-4 run to start the second half to turn back UT-Dallas 76-66 and improve their record to 13-1, 10-1 in the American Southwest Conference.

In the first half, UTD built a 24-14 lead by knocking down nine of their first 14 shots and shot 52 percent overall to hold the halftime lead.

The second half was a different story as MC outscored the Comets 47-33 and dominated the glass outrebounding UTD by a 22-8 margin. The Choctaws shot 64 percent in the second half and 49 percent for the game to pull out the win.

Senior guard Orlando Lewis was the high scorer for the Choctaws finishing with 16 points on 4-7 shooting from the three point line. Jonathan Collins added eleven points making 7-8 free throw attempts. Willie Powers and Tyler Winford each finished with a team high six rebounds.

UTD was led by senior guard Martin Salinas who scored 16 points but was held to just 5-14 shooting from the field. Adam Bush added 16 points on 7-13 shooting. Travis Carruthers finished with eleven points and four assists.

The loss drops UTD to 4-10, 4-7 in ASC play.
