NEW LONDON, N.H. — Kristen Sorensen scored a game-high 18 points to lead the Colby-Sawyer women's basketball team to a 66-40 victory over New England College in a Commonwealth Coast Conference game on Thursday night in New London.

Colby-Sawyer (9-4, 5-1 CCC) closed out the first half on a 21-7 run over the final 13 minutes of the period to take a 29-13 lead into the break. The Chargers held the Pilgrims to 26 percent shooting in the first half and 24 percent from the floor for the game, while shooting 39 percent themselves from the field.

Emma Pasquale added 11 points for Colby-Sawyer, while Stacey Hildreth had four points and 10 rebounds and Anne Coulter added six points and 11 rebounds of her own.

Laura Mahoney scored 10 points to lead New England College (9-4, 2-3 CCC).

Colby-Sawyer returns to the road on Saturday, traveling to Salve Regina for a 1 p.m. contest. New England College hosts Wentworth on Saturday, also a 1 p.m. tip.
