Albright 69, Lebanon Valley 47

ANNVILLE, Pa — Albright put 12 players in the scoring column and held Lebanon Valley to a 33% (16-49) shooting effort from the field in taking a 69-47 win over the Flying Dutchmen Wednesday night. The Lions are now 4-1 in Commonwealth Conference play, 11-4 overall. Lebanon Valley falls to 1-4, 7-9 with the loss.

After an evenly played first five minutes that saw the score tied 8-8, the Dutchmen took advantage of an Albright cold spell to score eight straight points and open a 16-8 lead with 11:36 to play in the half. Mike Boles scored a bucket in the paint to break the drought for the Lions, and added a pair of free throws on the next possession to cut the deficit to four, 16-12. That was the start of an 18-1 Albright run over a 10 minute span that saw the Lions turn the eight point hole into a 26-17 lead with two minutes left in the half. Leb Val's first field goal in 10 minutes cut Albright's lead to 26-19, but Matt Kieselowsky hit a three-point shot for the final points of the half as Albright took a 29-19 lead to the locker room. Kieselowsky and Trevor Deeter each had six points to lead Albright in the first 20 minutes, while the Dutchmen's Hunter Bretschneider led all scorers with eight.

Jimmy Curran hit a jumper for Lebanon Valley to open the second half and pull the Dutchmen within eight, but the Lions would pull away from there. Leading 36-26 with 15:41 remaining in the contest, Albright ripped off 10 straight points, the first four coming from Deeter, to extend the lead to 20 points, 46-26. The lead grew as large as 24 points at 54-30 and again at 66-42. The Dutchmen never got closer than 16 points the rest of the way.

Deeter lead Albright in the scoring column with 10 points on a night in which no Lion saw more than 22 minutes of action. Taylor Steltz and Albert Medoro each had nine points for the Lions, with Medoro's points coming on a 3-3 effort from three-point land. Kyle Brudvig pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds as Albright out-boarded Lebanon Valley 42-29 on the night. Kieselowsky led Albright with five assists, and the Lions turned the ball over just 12 times in the contest. Curran led Lebanon Valley with 16 points, followed by Dan Hodge with 11.
