The Wildcat women’s squad lost to the Storm 42-72. With the defeat the Wildcats fell to 2-11 on the year and 2-4 in NEAC play. The loss for the Wildcats snaps a two-game win-streak. Keuka moves to 3-7 on the year with the win and 2-1 in conference play.
Three Keuka starters finished in double-figures for the Storm. Forward Lindsay Baker finished with a game-high 19 points and ten rebounds to record a double-double on the evening, guard Amy Chaffee scored 14 points and guard Alison Berwanger finished with 16 points.
Keuka’s starting point-guard, Sarah Dorman, finished with an impressive game-high 14 assists.
Cazenovia was led by Ashley Agresta (’06, Amsterdam / Galway HS) and Kate Lincoln (’08, Waterloo / Waterloo HS). Both Cazenovia forwards scored nine points in the game.
Ashley Lewis (’07, Whitesboro / Whitesboro HS), who was named the NEAC Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week and the Cazenovia College Courtyard by Marriott Student-Athlete of the Week on Tues., Jan. 17, finished with six points, four rebounds and four assists.
In the second game of the double-header, the Cazenovia men’s squad lost 53-76. With the defeat, the men’s team falls to 3-11 on the year and 2-4 in NEAC play. Keuka improved to 7-4 on the year and 3-1 in conference play.
Keuka’s starters did the majority of the damage against the Wildcats as four of the five starters scored in double-figures. Forward Josh White finished with a team-high ten rebounds and 16 points to record a double-double. The Storm’s Todd Lincoln finished with a team-high 17 points.
Bryan Bishop (’06, Watertown / South Jefferson HS) scored a game-high 20 points and pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds to record his second double-double of the season. Bishop leads the Wildcats in 2005-2006 with 177 points scored.
Additionally for the Wildcats, Steven Zavackis (’07, Carthage / Carthage HS) finished the game with 10 rebounds and Chris Gyder (’09, Clay / Cicero-North Syracuse), playing in only his fifth game for Cazenovia, recorded a career-high 10 points.
The Wildcats next travel to SUNY-IT on Thurs., Jan 19. The women’s game is slated for 5:00 PM and the men’s game is scheduled as a 7:00 PM start.
