Colby-Sawyer 116, Anna Maria 70

PAXTON, Mass. — The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team snapped its six game losing streak in a big way, defeating Anna Maria, 116-70, on Tuesday night, behind 33 points from Andrew St. Clair. For the game, 14 of Colby-Sawyer's 16 players scored, while each player played at least five minutes.

The Chargers (5-8, 3-2 Commonwealth Coast Conference) jumped out early, pulling away to a 28-8 advantage just 7:18 into the game. St. Clair scored 14 of his points during that run, which was capped by a three-pointer by James Thorpe.

The Chargers led by as many as 35 during the first half with four minutes left, 56-21, on their way to a 64-31 halftime lead. The lead reached 50 with six minutes left in the game, 107-57, before the Amcats cut the final margin to 46.

St. Clair scored 33 points to lead all scorers, while Thorpe added 16 points and 10 rebounds. Nate Truncellito was the only other player in double-figures for Colby-Sawyer, scoring 13 points.

For the Amcats (2-13, 0-7 CCC), Anthony McDonald scored 26 points, while Gary Constantino added 10 points off the bench.

Colby-Sawyer returns home on Thursday, hosting New England College in a 7:30 p.m. contest.
