Piedmont jumped out of the gates strong with solid defensive pressure that led to a quick 17-4 advantage. PCC rallied with a 22-5 run to take a 26-22 lead midway through the first period.
The second-half was all Piedmont as the Lions used two runs to stretch their lead to 28-points. The Lions shot 45% from the field for the game including 58% after intermission. PC also knocked down an impressive 24-28 (86%) shots from the charity stripe.
Brent Walker scored a team-high 16 points to go along with 11 rebounds marking the sixth time this season the senior has pulled down double-digit rebounds. Twelve different Lions scored in the game highlighted by five in double-figures.
The win moves Piedmont to 9-5 overall on the season with the Lions returning to action on Wednesday night with a Great South Athletic Conference road contest versus Huntingdon College in Montgomery, AL with tip-off set for 7:00 CST.
