A dazzling first half shooting display by freshman Adam Greeno and sophomore Dan Haynes coupled with a superb inside game by sophomore Neal Foley enabled the DWC Eagles to throw a slight scare into second-seeded Emmanuel College before eventually falling, 96-58. The Eagles trailed by four at the half and trimmed that down to two start the second half but turnovers and a technical foul allowed the Saints to regain the driver’s seat and an eight point lead. The Boston club had held a 16 point lead with 6:29 to play in the first half. The fast-breaking Saints turned on the jets with 18 minutes remaining in the second half and reclaimed the 14 point lead and then some scoring 35 points in 10 minutes, matching their first half output. Sophomore Levi Smith (17), freshman Mack Spellman (12), and junior point guard Toliver Thomas (11) and sophomore Andre Barbosa (11)led the Emmanuel parade. For the Eagles Foley had 17, Greeno 13 and Haynes had 10. The Eagles next host Western New England Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
