LAGRANGE, Ga. — Demetris Render tied a season-high with 28 points and Corie Jackson added 20 more to lead LaGrange College past the University of Dallas at Mariotti Gymnasium on Sunday.

The Panthers improved to 6-11 overall, snapping a three-game losing streak. The Crusaders fell to 2-15 on the season.

Render was 9-for-18 from the floor, including 3-of-4 from three-point range. He had not attempted a three-pointer during the season before Sunday. Jackson was 6-of-7 from the floor, including 4-for-5 from three-point range.

The Panthers led 39-31 at halftime. J.K. Nickell rallied Dallas in the second half. He scored 14 of his team-high 16 points in the final half. Nickell hit four three-pointers in the half, including one to tie the score at 48 with 12:37 left.

Jackson answered Nickell's three-pointer with one of his own to put LaGrange back up 51-48. The Panthers never gave up the lead the rest of the way.

Dallas stayed within striking distance until the final minutes. The Panthers held the Crusaders scoreless over the last three minutes, finishing the game with a 11-0 run.

The Panthers travel to Holly Springs, Miss. to face Rust College on Saturday, Jan. 21.
