Indianola, Iowa — Simpson made 56% of its field goal attempts as the Storm (7-8, 3-3 IIAC) defeated Cornell College (1-12, 0-4 IIAC) 90-69 Jan. 14 in Indianola. The Storm shot 33-for-59 for the game and were 17-of-29 (58.6%) in the first half. Five Simpson players scored in double figures, led by Ryan Hittenmiller and Jason Parkinson who each had 15. Matt Gilbert scored 11 while Chris Allen and Jason Soppe each posted 10. Allen was 4-for-4 from the field including two spectacular dunks. The Storm outrebounded the Rams 43-27. Simpson forced 17 turnovers, making 11 steals.

Four Cornell players scored in double figures with Griffin LaDew leading the way with 15. Ray Byrns had 12 while Jeff Ecker and Michasel Tierney each scored 11.
