North Carolina Wesleyan 88, Shenandoah 75

WINCHESTER, Va. - — NC Wesleyan used a strong shooting performance from the field Saturday afternoon to down homestanding Shenandoah University 88-75 in USA South Conference men's basketball action.

The win also snaps a seven game losing streak for the Bishops (3-10, 1-0 USA South).

Trailing 36-35 at the break, Shenandoah (8-4, 0-2) scored nine of the second half's first 13 points to take a 44-40 lead by the 18:25 mark. However, this would prove to be the Hornets high-water mark.

Emanuel Alston gave his club that lead with a jumper at the 15:30 mark, and the Bishops then preceded to outscore SU 16-6 over the next 5:16 to take a 65-54 lead with 10:14 remaining.

Shenandoah would get as close as four points by the 3:26 mark following a http://www.su.edu/athletics/mb/players.cfm?rid=837"> color="#CC0000" size="1"> Moutkar Fawehinmi dunk, but Hall answered with another three-pointer 33 seconds later and the Hornets comeback attempt was effectively finished.

Arrington led all scorers with 29 points with Hall adding 23 and Alston 12. NC Wesleyan shot 29 for 57 (50.9 percent) for the contest, which made up for Shenandoah's 46-38 advantage on the boards.
