Cortland State 69, Potsdam State 60

Potsdam Men Denied in Home Conference Contest

The Potsdam men were denied by a score of 69-60 in Saturday’s home conference basketball contest with SUNY Cortland. The Bears now move to 6-6 (2-2 SUNYAC) on the season while the Red Dragons advance to 12-1(5-0).

Despite trailing 25-32 at halftime, the Bears came back for a 45-45 tie with 8 minutes remaining. Cortland regained the lead one minute later then pulled ahead for the win.

Five Red Dragons scored in double-digits led by Frank Ranieri, Scott Taggart and Dave Maggiacomo with 13 each. Simon Skrelja added 11 while Dave Jutton contributed 10.
Taggart topped the Cortland rebounders with 8.

Edane Barton went double-double as he led the Bears with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Dave Bisesi followed with 13 points while Ernst Ducena added 12. Newcomer Jehrod Hall had 7 rebounds as the Bears second man on the boards.
