Snipes carried Guilford (6-8, 4-3 ODAC) to its second straight Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) victory with his team season-high 31 points. He scored 17 points in the second half, which saw the Quakers break open a two-point game midway through the period with a 13-1 run. Snipes scored five points during the spurt, including his fourth and final three-pointer of the game.
Guilford's shaky free-throw shooting down the stretch helped Eastern Mennonite (7-7, 3-5 ODAC) trim a 15-point deficit with 1:55 left down to seven with 56 seconds remaining. Snipes made three-of-four free throws and Caleb Kimbrough (Carrboro, NC/Chapel Hill) added two free throws in the final minute to preserve the win.
Guilford's Ben Strong (Chapel Hill, NC/Chapel Hill) notched his first college double-double with 19 points and a game- and career-high 10 rebounds. He also added three of his team's seven blocks. The Quakers shot 66.7 percent from the floor in the second half and 55.3 percent for the game. Guilford's defense limited the Royals to 35 percent field-goal shooting.
Jason Sager (Edinburg, VA/Central) paced five Royals in double-figure scoring with 15 points and a team-best nine rebounds. Jason Lentz (Diana, WV/Webster County) added 13 points and seven boards before fouling out. Brad Parkes (Winchester, VA/James Wood) finished with 13 points and five rebounds.
