Clampitt’s scoring output was the 11th highest in school history and the most since Rhett McCoy scored 42 against Transylvania in 2003 – also in a loss. The senior hit 16-of-21 shots from the field, including 7-of-8 from 3-point range before fouling out of the game. Clampitt also led the team with six rebounds.
Nick Rogers also reached double figures for the Ravens with 17 points and five rebounds, hitting 6-of-11 field goals and all five of his free throws. Lloyd DeLoatch rounded out the double figure scorers with 16 to go with three assists and three steals. DeLoatch hit half of his 12 field goals, including a pair of 3-pointers.
AU shot 53 percent from the field and 9-of-14 from 3-point range, making 31-of-58 shots. However, Franklin was even better at 60 percent from the field and 9-of-13 from 3-point range.
The Grizzlies also held a 37-24 advantage on the boards, a 17-12 edge in assists and a 10-12 lead in turnovers.
