The Devils put together a 6-0 run over three minutes, consisting of a pair of free throws by junior guard Brian Dillon (West Orange, NJ) and two consecutive lay-ups by freshman forward Andrew Biancosino (Edison, NJ), and cut the Scranton lead to 54-48 with 5:55 left in the game. But an FDU turnover and a few missed jumpers helped Scranton to build its lead back up to 12 points by the 2:56 mark as they put in a lay-up, a free throw, and a three-pointer.
Junior guard Frank Emslie (Hazlet, NJ) led the Devils with 14 markers. Junior forward Pierre Schmitt (Park Ridge, NJ) chipped in 12 points and grabbed a team-high five rebounds.
For Scranton, Paul Hawk scored a game-high 18 points and handed out three assists. Tom Bicknell added 13 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
FDU will be back in action on Tuesday as they continue their conference schedule across the street at Drew University. Tipoff will be at 8:00 pm.
