Loras 66, Luther 58

DUBUQUE, Iowa — Senior guard Greg King scored a season high 22 points and pulled down seven rebounds to lead the Loras College men's basketball team to a 66-58 win over Luther College Friday night.

Loras jumped out to an early 22-5 lead in the first half behind hot shooting behind the arc before Luther was able to make a run late in the frame to trim the lead to eight at the break.

Luke Slater also dropped in 13 points on 5-11 shooting, while Scottie Braden and Brian Centella each added 9 points. Loras led the game from opening tip to final buzzer, failing to relinquish the early lead. Jake Lappe led Luther with 13 points and six rebounds.

The win was the ninth in a row for the Duhawks, who improved to 8-1 in games decided by 10 points or less. The last six games have all been decided by that margin.

Loras (11-3, 4-1) travels to Pella to meet Central College on Saturday night at 6:00 pm. The game can be heard live on News-Talk 1490 WDBQ.
