RPI 63, Hamilton 54

CLINTON, N.Y. — Kristi Baranowski '07 scored 12 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked two shots to lead visiting Rensselaer to a 63-54 Liberty League win against Hamilton College at Scott Field House on Jan. 13.

Tory Lyons '08 helped Baranowski inside by scoring 10 points and pulling down eight boards. Destany Eagles '07 led all scorers with 15 points and handed out four assists.

Pumla Sathula '08 scored 12 points and tied her season high with 12 rebounds for Hamilton (0-1 league, 3-7 overall). Sathula has three double-doubles this season. Sydney Fasulo '09 chipped in 12 points. Erin Daugherty '06 collected a career-high ten rebounds, handed out five assists and made four steals.

The Continentals led 36-32 at the half and 40-32 early in the second half, but the Red Hawks (1-0, 7-3) stormed back. Rensselaer was ahead 45-44 with 13:27 left when it scored the next eight points to take control of the game. The Red Hawks enjoyed a 53-44 advantage with 9:09 remaining and never trailed the rest of the game.

Rensselaer outscored Hamilton 31-18 in the second half. The Continentals shot 22.9 percent (8-35) from the field during the final 20 minutes.
