Chicago 67, Case Western Reserve 58

CLEVELAND — Jesse Meyer led four Maroons in double figures with a game-high 16 points as Chicago defeated Case 67-58 in University Athletic Association men's basketball play Friday night at the Veale Center.

Chicago (8-5 overall, 1-1 UAA) led the entire contest. The Maroons scored the first eight points of the game and went on to take a 36-18 lead at the intermission.

In the second half, Chicago maintained a double-digit advantage until Case (9-4, 1-1) cut the Maroons' lead to 58-50 with 56 seconds remaining.

Meyer connected on four of eight three-point tries to extend his streak of consecutive games with a three-point basket to 20 dating back to last season.

Jason Hicks and Brandon Woodhead each registered double-doubles. Hicks finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds, while Woodhead scored 10 points and dished out 11 assists.

Nate Hainje added 11 points, eight rebounds, and three steals.

Carson Oren and Funso Lafe led the host Spartans with 15 and 10 points, respectively.
