UMHB led 34-15 at halftime after shooting 52 per cent from the field in the first half and holding Schreiner to 21 per cent shooting. The Crusaders followed up with 60 per cent shooting in the second half as UMHB controlled the game after the break. UMHB finished at 56 per cent shooting from the field and hit 50 per cent from beyond the arc. The Cru also out rebounded Schreiner 40-25 and held the Mountaineers to 36 per cent shooting for the game.
Patrick Oliver led UMHB with 16 points and Matt Dickey came off the bench to go 4-4 from the field and 4-4 from the free-throw line to finish with 12 points. Eleven different players scored for the Crusaders in the victory and Justin Schwartz and Neiman Ford added seven rebounds apiece for UMHB. Kevin Deans topped Schreiner with 14 points and Brandon Burke added 12 for the Mountaineers.
The UMHB men will now return home to take on Texas Lutheran University on Saturday. The Crusaders and Bulldogs will tip off at 3:00 PM at the Mayborn Campus Center.
