Northfield, VT — A pair of missed jumpers by Emmanuel's Toliver Thomas with six seconds and two seconds remaining was enough for the Cadets to hold off the Saints, 84-82, in overtime. Earlier in the extra session, Norwich built a five-point lead when Rene Cheatham made two free throws with 1:06 remaining, the final time NU would score. Emmanuel then cut the lead to two points when Levi Smith made an old-fashioned three-point play with 51 seconds remaining, but that's as close as the Saints would get.

NU's Geoff Hensley led all scorers with 21 points, while Rene Cheatham dumped in 19 and Jerrold Williams added 14.

Five Emmanuel players scored in double figures with Thomas leading the pack with 18 points. Smith finished with 13, while Mack Spellman and Brian Lindsey each scored a dozen, and Rob Williams-Hinton chipped in 11.

Norwich won the rebounding battle, 44-37. Cheatham and Williams hauled in 14 and 10 boards, respectively.

The win was the ninth straight for the Cadets, who go to 9-2 overall and 5-0 in GNAC play. The Saints drop to 5-6 in all games played and 3-1 in conference play.

Norwich will next play at Suffolk on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Emmanuel will travel to Southern Vermont, also on Saturday, for a 3:00 p.m. tipoff.
