Shooting an a 61 percent clip and posting scoring runs of 10 and 24 points paved the way for a convincing Southern Vermont 88-44 victory over Daniel Webster. Junior Doug Hammond (Brooklyn, N.Y.), started the scoring eruption with a thunder dunk for 15-6 SVC lead. Six points later freshman Adam Greeno (Brandon, Vt.) stopped the bleeding for DWC on a layup. It was 10 minutes later before the Eagles heard the swish of the net as the Mountaineers went on a 24 point scoring surge. Senior Chris Boone (Durham, Maine) hit on a jumper for the Eagles to end that run. Leading by 41 at the half, the Mountaineers maintained their lead for the rest of the contest. High scorers for Southern Vermont were Mark Edmonds (Albany, N.Y. (28), Hammond (20) and Oriol Morer (Barcelona, Spain) (20). For the Eagles, freshman guard Justin Van Dyke (Middletown, N.Y.) led 12 players who scored for DWC with seven points. The Eagles are at Albertus Magnus on Saturday.
