The game started with the visiting Wolverines as the aggressors, and the Eagles settling for outside shots. While the Eagles shot the three well, the game remained close, and Eastern claimed their biggest lead of the game nine minutes in when Corey Copeland hit a three from the top of the key for a 22-20 advantage. Wesley scored the next two baskets and steadily built a 37-32 halftime lead.
The second half started with Wesley on a 10-2 run and the game was never in question from that point on. Eastern, who falls to 8-4 (3-2 PAC) on the year, was led by Lenny DiMaria with 18 points. Copeland was the only other Eagle in double figures with 13. The visiting Wolverines (5-7, 3-2) put four players in double figures led by Rashawn Johnson’s 22 and Tyrell Brown’s 17.
Eastern returns to action at 3:00 Saturday with a critical conference match up against Cabrini.
