NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - — Christopher Newport held Shenandoah University to a season low 35.3 percent shooting Wednesday night to take a 70-66 USA South Conference decision in the league opener for both teams.

CNU (10-3, 1-0) also dominated on the glass with a 50-40 advantage, including 37-13 on the Hornets (8-3, 0-1) offensive end.
