MIDDLEBURY, Vt. — Andrew St. Clair and James Thorpe scored 16 points each, but the Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team dropped its fifth straight game, falling at Middlebury, 79-74.

The Panthers, who improved to 10-3 on the year, made 12 of 18 free throws in the final 2:02 to seal the game away. Leading 68-63 with 2:02 to play, Middlebury built a lead up to 12 points with 56 seconds remaining before the Chargers closed the final margin to five.

St. Clair also grabbed 11 rebounds for the Chargers (4-7), who also got seven points each from Nate Truncellito and Andrew Cousins.

Andrew Harris scored 23 points off the bench to lead all scorers for Middlebury. Evan Thompson added 15 points, while Ben Rudin had 11 and Mike Walsh 10.

Colby-Sawyer returns to action on Thursday night, playing a Commonwealth Coast Conference game at Gordon at 8 p.m. in Wenham, Mass.
