Stout (11-3, 4-2) took a 76-74 lead in the second overtime on a bucket by Greg Chaisson, but free throws and clutch shoting would propel the Pointers (10-4, 5-1) to the win. Jon Krull, who finished with 23 points, knotted the score with two free throws with 3:50 remaining. Then came the play of the overtime period when Brian Bauer, who took home a game-high 29 points, hit a 3-pointer, garnered a foul and nailed the shot to give the Pointers an 80-76 lead.
Bauer and Krull each dropped in two more free throws over the next minute to give the Pointers what would prove to be an insurmountable lead. The Pointers made enough free throws down the stretch to hold off Stout's Ryan Stangl, who drained two 3-pointers in the final minute.
Stout did not lead in regulation until Jacob Nonemacher made two free throws with seven seconds left. Stout held the lead throughout the first overtime until Bauer tied the score at 74 with 20 seconds remaining to force the second overtime.
Stout got 20 points from Chaisson, 15 from Nonemacher and Terry Farmer and Ryan Stangl had 14.
