Huber and Jimmy O'Brien finished with a game-high 19 points apiece as the Mules (6-5, 2-3 Centennial Conference) snapped a three-game losing streak by defeating the Bullets (5-7, 1-4) for the first time in four years.
Huber, coming off a career-high 20-point outing at Lehigh, hit a deep three-pointer in the final seconds of the first half to give Muhlenberg a 39-23 lead at the break. He then knocked down three more triples in the first four minutes of the second half as part of a 13-4 run that extended the Mules’ lead to 25.
Two players had previously gone 5-for-5 from three-point range, most recently Ryan Bonda against Franklin & Marshall two seasons ago.
O’Brien scored 13 of his 19 points in the first half, which saw Muhlenberg take control on a steal and full-court dunk by Jeff Stewart at the 10-minute mark. The play was part of a 12-0 run that gave the Mules a 26-14 lead.
Stewart finished with 12 points and 13 rebounds for his 30th career double-double. Muhlenberg had a 45-28 advantage on the boards and held Gettysburg to 33.3-percent shooting. The Mules shot 55.2 percent from the field, including 64.0 percent in the second half.
Erik Fromm led the Bullets with 11 points and seven rebounds.
