Earlham 69, Allegheny 53

RICHMOND, Ind. — The Allegheny College Gators dropped their third straight game, this one at the hands of the Quakers of Earlham College on Saturday afternoon in the second day of a two-day double header by a 69-53 count.

The two teams battled back and forth to start the game, as the Gators held a 20-17 lead with 7:04 play before being out-scored 15-0 to end the period, giving Earlham a 12-point halftime lead before cruising in the second stanza.

Three players scored in double figures for the Gators, led by Ben Torsney (Morgantown, W.Va.) and Ryan Hollihan (Saxonburg/Knoch) who scored 11 as Casey McCloskey (Erie/Cathedral Prep) added 10. Matt Majzlik (Monaca/Hopewell) scored eight. Hollihan pulled down a game-high eight rebounds, while Savage dished out a team-best three assists.

Earlham was led by Markous Jewett who scored 16 points while Tristan Gregory scores 15 off of the bench, while LaRon Henry and Brandon Miller each scored 10.

The schedule does not get any easier for the Blue and Gold, as the team hosts third ranked Wooster on Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the David V. Wise Center.
