Trinity (Conn.) 81, Elms 52

HARTFORD, Conn. — Elms College senior forward Danielle Dugre (Holyoke, MA) registered her fourth double-double of the year with a team-high 16 points and 11 rebounds, but host Trinity College had three players reach double figures to pull away to an 81-52 win over the Blazers in Friday night’s non-conference women’s basketball game at Hartford, Connecticut.

The Blazers saw their three-game winning streak snapped as they fell to 4-4 overall. The host Bantams snapped a three-game losing streak to improve to 5-5 overall.

Elms College trailed by just six (27-21) at intermission, but the Bantams shot nearly 64-percent from the field in the second half to seal the victory.

Freshman forward Paige Schneider (Windsor, CT) added 14 points for the Blazers in the loss.

Elms College returns to North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play when it hosts Becker College on Monday, January 9. Game time is 7:00 p.m. at the Maguire Center.
