Trinity (Texas) 78, Sewanee 75

SEWANEE, Tenn. — Brandon York scored a game-high 27 points to lead Trinity to a 78-75 win against host Sewanee, 78-75, in an NCAA Division III and SCAC men's basketball game at Juhan Gymnasium.


Sewanee (4-7, 1-1) was led by Joey Garcia with 19 points and nine rebounds. Teammate Ben Campbell had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Spencer Rowland had 15 points, six rebounds and six assists.

Trinity (9-3, 2-0) led 44-40 at intermission.

Trinity led by nine at 63-54 (11:48), but Sewanee went on a 14-4 run to take its only lead of the half at 68-67 (5:45) on a Garcia 3-pointer.

Trinity re-gained the lead for good at 69-68 (5:15) on two free throws by Mike Gilb (12 points on the night).

Double Figures: Joey Garcia has scored in 15 straight games, including the last four from the 2004-05 season.

Next Game: Sunday Noon - Southwestern at Sewanee.
