Alvernia raced out to a 21-4 lead in the first nine and a half minutes of the contest. Straining scored six of the points in the Crusaders’ run, and Lamar Brickus added a pair of three-pointers.
Immaculata trimmed the lead to 10 points with seven minutes remaining in the half on a three-pointer by Kyle Finklea, before the Crusaders extended the margin to 16 points at the half.
Alvernia opened the second half in similar fashion to the first, scoring the first 17 points of the stanza to out the game out of reach. Straining scored 11 of the points in the run.
