COLUMBUS, Ohio — John Carroll University used a 14-2 run midway through the first half to take control and never looked back in a 66-56 Ohio Athletic Conference men's basketball victory at Capital University Wednesday in Columbus.

A three-pointer by freshman Nate Stahl gave Capital (5-6, 2-3 OAC) a 7-2 lead with 14:17 left in the first half. John Carroll (8-4, 4-1 OAC) then scored 14 of the next 16 points over the next six minutes capped by a John Curran jumper to lead 16-9 with 8:33 remaining in the period. The Blue Streaks would extend the lead to 14 points, 32-18, before taking a 32-20 lead into the lockers.

Capital rallied in the second half closing the gap to five, 45-40, with nine minutes to play, but got no closer as John Carroll went on to the 10-point victory.

John Carroll seniors Justin Ragor with 16 points and Demetrius Travis with 13 points to lead the Blue Streaks.
