CLINTON, MS — Mississippi College (8-1) outscored Fisk University (7-4) 13-5 in the final five minutes of the game Monday night to pull away for an 88-75 win over the visiting Bulldogs.

The Choctaws were led by junior forward Timothy Broomfield who led all scorers with 21 points and grabbed a team high six rebounds. Broomfield knocked down 9-12 shots and also picked up three blocked shots. Orlando Lewis and Lonnie Vasquez each added 12 points for the Choctaws.

The Bulldogs were led by Courtney Ellis' 17 points and six rebounds. Jeremiah Williamson added 15 points.

Fisk knocked down twelve of their first 16 shots to build a 31-23 early lead but cooled off making just 16-45 shots the rest of the game.

After Fisk took the 31-23 lead, MC went on a 17-7 run to enter halftime ahead 40-38.

The Choctaws outscored Fisk 48-37 in the second half and limited the Bulldogs to 40 percent shooting.

MC shot 54.4 percent for the game and outrebounded Fisk 41-27.
